Updated FAFSA 101 E-learning Unit Now Available
NCAN is pleased to announce that the FAFSA 101 e-learning unit is updated and contains current information, as it relates to the 2019-20 FAFSA. Detailed screenshots and helpful hints and tips contained in the unit can help you easily assist the students you serve. The unit also contains a brief section on the new mobile app that students and families can now use to submit their FAFSA.
We encourage all new advisers or those who need a refresher on the steps needed to file a FAFSA to complete this unit. All NCAN units are free to NCAN member organization staff members. You may wish to use the unit for training purposes. Each person who successfully completes a unit receives a certificate of completion that can be provided to supervisors.
If you wish to register for this unit, please go to http://www.collegeaccess.org/elearning and complete the course registration form at the bottom of that page. If you would like to take all the financial aid units available, you can earn the financial aid advising badge.
Stay tuned, as the FAFSA 201 unit will be available on Oct. 10. This unit informs you of the processes a student may have to go through after submitting a FAFSA. It contains a review of the Student Aid Report and addresses the verification process and how you can assist students if they are flagged for verification.
NCAN would like to acknowledge uAspire for providing the content for these two important training units.
