Faculty Director of Experiential Learning
Description:
The College of Liberal Arts at Temple University is searching for a Faculty Director of Experiential Learning who will be charged with overseeing the development, implementation, and administration of experiential and service learning initiatives. The Faculty Director will have primary responsibility for maintaining a full-service office that includes consulting with department chairs and individual faculty, assisting departments in the development of interdisciplinary internship programs, sustaining partnerships with local non-profit and corporate organizations, creating training materials and information manuals for faculty, students, and community placement sites, conducting training workshops for faculty, assisting students interested in internships and other experiential learning opportunities, and maintaining the Program?s website.
In addition, the Faculty Director will be asked to teach two courses each semester and serve on relevant College and University committees, including a central role in the University-wide Service Learning Roundtable and in the development of the College of Liberal Arts? Human Rights Initiative.
Position Requirements:
? Master?s degree required (doctoral degree preferred)
? Experience conducting service and experiential learning
? Record of teaching excellence
? Ability to work effectively with colleagues and students
? Experience with civic organizations and social agencies
? Supervisory experience
? Familiarity with university budgeting processes
Salary:
The salary is commensurate with the candidate?s teaching and administrative experience.
