Adult Obesity Rates Hold Steady But Remain High
Adult obesity rates remained level in every state except for Arkansas in the past year, according to F as in Fat: How Obesity Threatens America’s Future 2013, a new report from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the Trust for America’s Health. Thirteen states now have adult obesity rates above 30 percent, but over the last few years there has been some evidence that the rate of increase has been slowing. This year’s report also shows that rates remain highest in the South and Midwest, among the Baby Boomer generation, and for adults with less education and lower incomes.
