PAEP ANNOUNCES UNIQUE PROGRAM TEACHERS GAIN EXPOSURE TO ARTS IN THE PHILADELPHIA REGION
The Philadelphia Arts in Education Partnership recently announced a unique professional development program, Explore the Arts Series, for teachers throughout the Philadelphia region providing them with Act 48 Credit hours to attend arts programs at participating performing and visual arts institutions. Institutions that are currently planning to participate in this exciting program are listed below.
Teachers will register for the course with PAEP, which will administer the course requiring teachers to write a 1-2 page directed paper for each arts experience including its application to the classroom. The program will run from November 1, 2005 through May 30, 2006 and will involve teachers attending any five programs of their choice. PAEP will review all written materials and process the 12 hours of Act 48 Credit once a teacher has completed all course work.
Participating institutions will be offering tax-deductible subscription series or tax-deductible individual ticket sales for this program. Teachers will purchase their tickets or ticket series directly from the participating institutions and will submit their ticket stubs along with their written assignments to PAEP.
