Congreso de Latinos Unidos, Inc. is currently seeking an Exito at KCAPA Tutor for the Children and Youth Services Department within the Education & Workforce Services Division of Congreso. The Exito at KCAPA Tutor is responsible for providing academic support to 9th graders who are struggling with school year academics and are at risk of failing math or English courses. Instructor will lead group of 15 students for 10 hours of instruction per week for the duration of the academic year. Instructor will be responsible for designing class content. Role will be supported by the Exito case manager who will be providing social emotional support to each of the students.
Essential Responsibilities
Uses a variety of instructional methodologies and curriculum resources to prepare and execute lesson plans that reflect a logical sequence of learning objectives and activities to meet the individual needs and abilities of both traditional and non-traditional students.
Communicates a clear vision of excellence and continuous improvement consistent with Exito goals.
Establishes standards of classroom conduct and administers them in a fair, equitable, and consistent manner.
Attend relevant workshops or join professional groups as necessary to maintain professional knowledge and licensure.
Adheres to the Congreso’s security guidelines and ensures the appropriate handling of sensitive information.
Facilitates and attends relevant staff meetings to promote communication and execution of goals.
Other duties as assigned within the scope of position expectations.
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum of 1 year of group education experience with middle school or high school students.
Bachelor’s degree.
