Executive Leaders Trauma Informed Professional Learning Community (PLC) – Jan 21
Posted by Center for Youth Development Professionals on January 5, 2021
All of us experienced (and continue to experience) some degree of trauma when the stay at home order was established in March, due to Covid-19 virus. Many leaders had to adjust on the fly to keep programming and services going and support staff as information changed on a daily basis. And many of us in Philadelphia, work in and with communities that have experienced and continue to experience the trauma of systemic racism and white supremacy, red-lining, unequal distribution of resources, and violence.
For organizations working with individuals and communities impacted by trauma, using a trauma informed framework at a systems-level is critical. Understanding of a trauma informed framework, however, is not enough. Leaders must know how to lead their organization in this framework as well.
