Executive Director
A new, non-profit, volunteer-based, organization serving West Philadelphia’s children is seeking its first Executive Director. WePAC is a collaborative organization, working with a racially diverse group of professionals, volunteers, families, schools, and neighborhoods to provide a loving, dynamic, enriched, safe setting that enhances the knowledge, skills, resources and opportunities for children and their families in West Philadelphia. The ideal applicant will be a flexible, passionate, energetic manager with several years of experience working in a field related to social services, together with a working knowledge of West Philadelphia and its adjacent suburban communities. An applicant’s professional background might include positions of leadership in education, community-based social work, child-advocacy, family services, or public health. This position requires excellent skills in fund-raising, working collaboratively with a wide range of community-based organizations, written and oral communication, program- building, and financial management. The Executive Director supervises a small staff of professionals and administrators who work to ensure that the individual contributions of a large pool of volunteers collectively have a major impact on the well-being of children in West Philadelphia. Starting salary $50,000 plus benefits
Job Responsibilities
* Supervise Staff
* Mount and sustain major fund-raising initiatives
* Create and sustain a collaborative working environment for WePAC staff and volunteers
* Capitalize on the creative energies of all who share WePAC’s values and goals
* Foster a spirit that contagiously impacts volunteers, children, families and partner organizations
* Staff the Board of Directors, sustaining an open and close communication with the Board President
* Help generate quality program designs and provide oversight/evaluation of all programs
* Catalyze community involvement in all WePAC activities
* Build and maintain the infrastructure of the WePAC organization
* Be the voice and public face of WePAC
