The Executive Director of Summerbridge of Greater Philadelphia administers a tuition-free, two-year, comprehensive academic enrichment program that prepares motivated middle school students for success in rigorous college preparatory high school programs. The program provides education, counseling, and advocacy for a diverse group of students who have limited educational and economic opportunities. Summerbridge also provides a consummate professional development experience for talented high school and college students by providing the opportunity to teach and administer academic programs under the direction of education professionals. Located on the campuses of Germantown Friends School and Saint Joseph?s University, Summerbridge emphasizes academic excellence, family involvement, teamwork, leadership, multicultural education, creativity, and diversity. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
? Articulating the vision and mission of Summerbridge of Greater Philadelphia to a wide variety of constituents including students, families, public schools, higher education partners, host school communities, local communities, other non-profit organizations, and donors

? Raising funds, including grant writing, to meet an annual operating budget in excess of $300k

? Overseeing financial operations, including preparation of an annual budget

? Providing overall supervision and evaluation of all aspects of the school year and summer programs, serving approximately 200 students annually, on two campuses. Includes curriculum development, evaluation, recruitment, training, school advocacy, and case management.

? Staffing a 24 person board of directors and its committees

? Supervising four year round staff and an additional eight summer staff

QUALIFICATIONS

? A strong sense of commitment and vision for expanding opportunities for educationally disadvantaged youth and their families

? Five or more years experience working in a non-profit or educational setting in a leadership capacity

? Successful experience in fundraising

? Background in finance, and work with a board of directors

? Background in classroom instruction and middle school curriculum development

? Strong research, writing, and interpersonal skills

? Computer literacy

? A bachelor?s degree from a four year institution of higher education

COMPENSATION

The position is full time and qualifies for benefits. Compensation is competitive and based upon educational and work experience.
