Executive Director

Founded in 1980, the Center for Responsible Funding expands the funding base of organizations working for social and economic justice. We promote and manage multiple charity workkplace giving combined campaigns, do research and public education on the funding needs of social and economic justice nonprofits, and offer fundraising and advocacy trainings to grassroots, low-income organizations.
The organization has three full-time and one part-time staff and several interns and volunteers. This vibrant, high paced staff maximizes their impact on the Philadelphia region by hard work, creativity and strategic use of resources.
The Center manages the City of Philadelphia Employees’ Combined Campaign with responsibility for raising and processing $1.5 million in contributions. The Executive Director is responsible for the Center’s operating budget of $312,000 and the City Combined Campaign budget of $305,107.
The successful candidate will possess a high level of commitment to the Center’s mission and the vision, creativity and practical skills necessary to fulfill that mission in concrete, effective programs. Must have the following: a minimum of five years experience in a leadership role in management of a small, non-endowed nonprofit advocacy organization; proven skills in fiscal management, human resources management, public and community relations; demonstrated success in fundraising including annual campaigns, grants management and events; familiarity with payroll deduction fundraising; excellent communication and interpersonal skills, media-savvy and political astuteness, strong connections with public policy, media and advocacy communities; bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience (Graduate degree in Social Work, City Planning, Public Administration, Fundraising, Education or Training strongly preferred); general facility with standard computer applications.
