Bethesda Project – Executive Director
The Bethesda Project, which provides services to Philadelphia’s abandoned poor, is seeking an Executive Director.
The Executive Director, with guidance from the Board of Directors, has responsibility for motivating staff and executing strategies and tactics to fulfill the organization’s mission. The position carries significant decision-making responsibility and accountability for program management and service delivery requiring a thorough understanding of the populations served and the demonstrated ability to lead others in the application of best practices. The capability and commitment to lead in fundraising efforts is essential.
Candidates should have a Master’s level degree and a minimum of five years senior management in the social work field preferably with closely related populations; understanding of health care systems and managed care concepts. Other qualifications include strong leadership skills, with commitment to the mission and goals of the organization; knowledge of the issues, opportunities and challenges facing the abandoned poor; a hands on management style; proven fundraising ability; persuasive communication skills; strong interpersonal skills; sound judgment; and strategic thinking.
