Executive Director – Ayuda Community Center is a community and faith-based non-profit which has served children and families in North Philadelphia for over 15 years. Our mission is to reveal Jesus’ mercy, renewal, and justice in the Hunting Park neighborhood so that individuals and families are strengthened and restored. We seek to accomplish this through community development, arts, education, and advocacy.
Ayuda Community Center is currently seeking an Executive Director to provide leadership and vision to the development and sustainability of programs and services to our community. The Executive Director is responsible for communicating the vision and mission of the Center to the local community as well as to the broader academic, church and government entities with which we interact. The Director will oversee the development of existing programs and the creation of new programs, will develop a fundraising plan for organizational sustainability and be responsible for budgeting and other fiscal management of the Center resources, and will oversee all paid and volunteer staff. The Director is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Center as well as implementation of the strategic plan and other administrative duties.
The successful candidate must possess a demonstrated commitment to justice and community revitalization in an urban setting, particularly among the urban poor, along with the ability to articulate the Christian faith with an understanding of urban theology. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, experience in fundraising, grant writing and budgeting, and knowledge of issues facing the Hunting Park neighborhood are necessary. Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Sociology, Social Work, Non-profit management or related field. Proficiency in Spanish and supervisory experience are preferred. Experience with non-profit fiscal management is a plus.
The Executive Director reports to the Board of Directors. Salary range $25-30K, plus health and vacation benefits.
