Women Against Abuse, the city’s leading domestic violence service provider, is looking for an experienced compliance professional to join the team as an Executive Assistant/Board Liaison!
WAA is the leading and largest provider of services to victims of domestic violence in both the City of Philadelphia and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. The mission of WAA is to provide quality, compassionate and nonjudgmental services in a manner that fosters self-respect and independence in persons experiencing intimate partner violence and to lead the struggle to end domestic violence through advocacy and community education. With just about 100 staff, WAA serves more than 15,000 individuals each year through emergency housing (100 bed shelter), transitional housing (15 apartments and support to various scattered housing sites), legal services, hotline counseling, education/training and advocacy.
We recently were awarded a contract from the Philadelphia Office of Supportive Housing to provide additional supportive services to victims including the operation of a new 100 bed Domestic Violence Safe Haven.

Summary of Principle Duties:
Provides executive and administrative support to the Executive Director. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to providing administrative support to the Executive Director; answering general calls and greeting visitors to the Administrative office; assisting with the coordinating/tracking of progress of our organizational strategic plan; coordinate and publish internal staff newsletter and at times assist with agency social networking communications; coordinating our document retention efforts and managing relationship with archive vendor; tracking supplier diversity; coordination of office supplies, copiers, postage meters and the management of the vendors; providing Board support by being a liaison to Board of Directors; and other support as needed to the Administrative Team. All responsibilities are implemented according to our mission and values and according to Agency standards, including the Sanctuary Model ®.
