The Exchange PHL Breakfast Series: Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA)
Wednesday, February 24, 2016 from 8:30 AM to 10:00 AM (EST)
Philadelphia, PA
The Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) was signed by President Obama on December 10, 2015. An act that can be seen by some as as a more flexible approach to standardized testing and school accountability will turn responsibility for fixing under-performing schools locally.
Additionally, Federal Title I funding could be applied by schools for external nonprofit programs that they want to operate and work with, which could open up many opportunities for partnerships.
How will this newly passed act affect Philadelphia schools? How will this impact the city’s low performing schools and middle school students?
Please join us and Maura McInerney from Education Law Center on Wednesday, February 24 for an interesting conversation about how we can have the impact we want to have on our youth by leveraging the ESSA to see education more holistically and be better partners to schools.
Breakfast refreshments and coffee will be served.
