Council for Economic Education Invites Nominations for Excellence in the Teaching of Economics Award

For nearly seventy years, the mission of the Council for Economic Education has been to teach K-12 students about economics and personal finance. CEE seeks to advance this mission by educating educators and providing curriculum tools, pedagogical support, and a community of peers that instructs, inspires, and guides.

Each year, the CCE recognizes three United States educators with the John Morton Excellence in the Teaching of Economics Award. The award program is open to K-12 teachers of any subject whose innovative teaching methods and concepts improve and stimulate economic understanding in and out of the classroom. Recipients will receive a cash award of $1,000, as well as transportation to and from, hotel accommodations, and conference registration for the annual Financial Literacy and Economic Education Conference. One award will be given in each of the following categories: grades K-4; grades 5-8; and grades 9-12.

Eligible candidates include current K-12 teachers in public, private, or parochial schools. Self-nominations will be considered.
