Literacy Council seeks ESL tutors in Upper Darby
Because of an increase in adults seeking English as a Second Language instruction in the Upper Darby area, Delaware County Literacy Council will be holding a new training for volunteer ESL tutors.
The free 10-hour training will be offered Monday through Thursday evenings, August 1-4, from 5:30-8pm, at Crossroads Community Church, 104 Heather Road, Upper Darby (one block east of 69th and Chestnut Streets).
Attendance at all four sessions and pre-registration are required. Once trained, volunteers meet with their adult students twice a week at a mutually convenient public location in Delaware County, such as a local library.
