ESL-HHA: NEW Free ESL Home Healthcare Aide Certification Program
This exciting new program offers ESL students an opportunity to attend a Home Healthcare Aide Program with ESL support; successful participants receive HHA Certification. Classes are taught in tandem by the Health & Technology Training Institute nursing staff and an ESL instructor. Additionally, Bridges to Career Opportunities supplies financial and employment support including resume creation, interviews with employers, and job search.
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
• Read in English at 5th-8th grade, (CASAS score B/C levels: 220-235)
• Attend all scheduled classes
• Have a social security number and be eligible to work in the U.S.
• Clean criminal background history
• Have satisfactory medical clearance
• Preferred, but not required: high school diploma or GED, from any country
• Be able to lift 50 lbs. and walk varied distances on a regular basis
• Have strong listening and speaking skills for communication with employers and clients
