Casey Foundation Invites Applications for 2016 Equal Voice Journalism Awards
The Marguerite Casey Foundation is inviting applications for its Equal Voice Journalism Fellowship/Scholarship on Poverty program.
The annual program aims to increase the public’s understanding of poverty. Recipients of the 2016 Equal Voice awards will write at least one in-depth story or short series that illustrates how language, culture, and race influence public attitudes and policy with respect to poor people.
Selected journalists will receive a stipend of $2,250, plus up to $1,000 in travel reimbursement. College-enrolled student journalists may also apply for the Equal Voice Scholarship, which offers a $500 stipend and up to $800 for travel.
