EPA/IPM Award Ceremony at Shaw Middle School
Posted by on November 26, 2004
The EPA award ceremony celebrating the Shaw Middle School/Urban Initiative Grant project has been rescheduled twice but we finally have a date set in stone!
DECEMBER 14TH 10:30 a.m.
The Shaw pilot program represents a significant strides towards educating Philly schools and communities how to minimize healthrisks associated with pests and pesticides using Integrated Pest Management(IPM).
IPM is key unifying principle within the Academic Standards for Environment and Ecology. We have shown that it is feasible to successfully incorporate IPM curricula with Service Learning requirements.
The EPA is inviting the press (tv and newspaper) to this event and are very keen on publicizing the work in progress. Consequentially, this is is a wonderful opportunity for the School District and partners to learn more and become involved.
Please come celebrate the students’ achievements and goals with us and be recognized for your partnership!!
Please RSVP your availability as soon as possible!
