MobilizeGreen seeks a 28-week Environmental Education Intern to work on the John Heinz National Wildlife Refuge at Tinicum in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania with the US Fish and Wildlife Service. This intern will work on a variety of visitor services and community engagement programs including: prepare and present environmental education programs for audiences, develop and present interpretive programs for public audiences and other groups, learn to teach youth outdoor skills like fishing, archery, and kayaking; work to orient and train refuge high school youth crews on refuge and community programming; attend community meetings/listening sessions in target communities to help the refuge team to develop community programs; use verbal and written communication to engage the local community, develop or revise visitor services and community engagement materials, brochures, and web content, draft a variety of written materials including news releases, articles, correspondence and event flyers, and assist in operation of the refuge.
Term: 28 weeks starting ASAP. Full-Time (40 hours per week).
