Entrepreneurs’ Roundtable: Clean Water is Good for Business
Posted by Sustainable Business Network of Philadelphia on July 23, 2018
AUGUST 15 @ 8:00 AM – 11:00 AM
The Entrepreneurs’ Roundtable is an intentionally intimate monthly members-only issue-based breakfast conversation created to connect local independent businesses, elected officials and other key decision makers in the city, region, and state.
For August’s Entrepreneurs’ Roundtable, Sustainable Business Network (SBN) is excited to welcome a representative from the Coalition for the Delaware River Watershed to discuss the work SBN is doing to advocate for clean water, as well as, learn local businesses’ perspective on the connection between protecting our waterways and growing a thriving economy.
More than 70% of small business owners believe clean water protections help spur economic growth.
67% of small business owners are concerned that water pollution could hurt their business operations.
The Delaware River supplies drinking water for 15 million people, supporting a vibrant economy and million of jobs.
SBN is part of a coalition led by the American Sustainable Business Council (ASBC) around the Clean Water is Good for Business campaign to protect the Delaware River Watershed. Clean water is a foundation for life. It’s also a foundation for business. Having access to reliably clean water affects a business’ bottom line and the overall health of a community. As the region’s only advocacy and membership organization for businesses committed to improving their environmental and social impact as well as their profitability, SBN is proud to represent the region’s triple bottom line business community in this campaign.
Clean water and smart environmental policy are essential to creating a vibrant and sustainable economy. We invite all SBN members to have a seat at this roundtable to learn more about how the business community can help support and propose policy solutions around clean water.
This policy breakfast is a members-only event with limited seating.
