How can the principles of service-learning be applied in urban environments? What are the issues and opportunities that educators and students face in urban areas?
This two-day session focuses on applying the principles of service-learning in inner-city environments. Join us as we bring together community voices to discuss service-learning outreach and application techniques that help students achieve excellence in urban settings. The schedule has been designed to allow for small-group interactions and large-group gatherings.
Registration includes all sessions, training materials, four meals, shuttle service between the Hilton and the Institute, and a reception. Sessions take place at the Kresge Learning Resource Center on the Meharry campus.
A special hotel rate of $139 per night will be available. Please contact the Hilton Nashville Downtown at (615) 620-2073 after May 1 to make your reservation. Ask for the “NYLC Urban Institute” rate. Visit the link below for more information: http://www.nylc.org/happening_event.cfm?oid=5156
