Engineers-Without-Borders (EWB) Workshop
Workshop Program
The workshop is a collaboration of professionals and students developing and
enhancing skills for Engineers-Without-Borders projects in communities all around the world. It will provide technical and practical workshops and hands-on activities.
EWB Sustainability Competition
How well does your EWB chapter understand sustainability? How well does your chapter work together as a team with limited resources and limited time? A sustainability competition will be held on Saturday afternoon/evening in which teams of students from each chapter will be given a sustainability challenge to achieve using simple materials (all materials will be provided). The student teams will construct their solutions Saturday afternoon/evening and awards will be presented at an award ceremony Sunday morning for the solutions that best achieve the objectives.

Keynote Speaker
Dr. Abul Hussam is the recipient of the prestigious 2007 Grainger Challenge
Gold Award for Sustainability from the US National Academy of Engineering. He
was honored for the development & deployment of a novel water filter (SONO
filter) to remove toxic arsenic species from groundwater. Dr. Abul Hussam is
an Associate Professor in the department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at George Mason University. He graduated in Chemistry from University of Dhaka, Bangladesh and earned his Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry from the University of Pittsburgh, PA.
