ENGINEERING EDUCATION: GLOBAL CHALLENGES, LOCAL SOLUTIONS
April 16 – 17, 2010
Lafayette College
Easton, PA 18042
Theme of the Conference:
Engineering Education: Global Challenges, Local Solutions
From energy to water, from solving conflict to humanitarian efforts, 21st century engineers must apply their expertise to an ever-more-complex set of problems. While these problems have global effects, global solutions may not exist. Interactive global communication tools that have presented new platforms for sharing worldwide concerns demand identifying local solutions. Engineering educators are charged with preparing the next generation of engineers for this increasingly complex and connected world. This conference will explore the desired outcomes of an engineering education in the 21st century and methods for achieving it.
