The Resource Development Engagement Manager is responsible for managing the following areas of fundraising and engagement for companies, individuals and affinity groups: Women’s Initiative; event sponsorships, non-campaign account management. This position supports workplace campaign, major gifts, and development officers in utilizing the full array of engagement opportunities to connect their current and prospective donors to the work of United Way.

This position reports to the Director of Engagement for Resource Development and is supported by the Engagement and Campaign Programs Development Coordinator.

Key Responsibilities:

I. Women’s Initiative (60%)

Manage the daily operations of United Way’s Women’s Initiative, (WI), and Women’s Initiative Next Generation, (WING), including fundraising strategy and execution, sub-committee volunteer management, meeting preparation, calendar, communications, and implementation of WI strategic plan. This includes, but is not limited to:

•Responsible for setting and achieving annual fundraising goal for Women’s Initiative.
•Plan and manage all Women’s Initiative fundraising events and programs (in collaboration with assigned Events/Communication staff).
•Participate in all fundraising and assigned sub-committee meetings/conference calls.
•Develop and manage meeting agendas, invitation lists, meeting materials, and follow-up.
•Assist in developing planned events schedule and distribute meeting dates/notices/RSVPs.
•Manage Committee contact and distribution list, oversee database.
•Manage content of WI website and support Communications in all social media outreach.
•Participate in monthly WI Leadership meetings/conference calls.
•Provide on-site support for Women’s Initiative and WING events.
•Act as RD liaison and support program development of Girls Today Leader Tomorrow and other Women’s Initiative Community Impact initiatives.
•Field general email and phone inquiries from WI Committee members, prospects, internal and external constituents.

II. Volunteer Event Sponsorships (15%)

Manage the sponsorship process for engagement events including prospecting potential sponsors, development and planning of projects, liaison with civic engagement, and volunteer tracking. This includes, but is not limited to:

•Assist Resource Development staff in achieving event sponsorship fundraising goals.
•Develop engagement event sponsorship prospect list and track all inquiries, asks and confirmations.
•Act as primary contact for all sponsor communications.
•Work with Stewardship Manager and others to ensure that sponsors receive appropriate acknowledgements, recognition and promised benefits.
•Coordinate development of sponsorship documents and communications materials.
•Ensure all sponsorship pledges and payments are recorded in ANDAR.

III. Account Management (15%)

Serve as the primary Resource Development contact with companies that only engage with United Way in event sponsorship or volunteer engagement.

•Manage all communication, event participation, and stewardship for these companies.
•Cultivate and manage corporate relationships. Help direct companies to other engagement opportunities with United Way with goal of starting a workplace campaign or asking for other financial investment.

IV. Additional Responsibilities (10%)

•Identify new and innovative opportunities and prioritize them within the parameters of available resources, capacity, and potential pay-off (increasing revenue, brand equity, etc.).

•Providing a visible, strong, leadership presence within in the organization and as a member of the Resource Development Operations Team.
