Engaged Department Institute for Engineering, Computer Science, and Related Fields
April 7-8, 2005
3M’s Tartan Park, Lake Elmo
This event is designed for departmental teams, including several faculty members, the department chair, a student, and a community partner. Participating teams will analyze models and strategies for integrating service-learning, community-based research, and other kinds of civic engagement into their undergraduate and graduate curricula, and they will leave the event with an action plan. Several nationally recognized leaders will facilitate the institute, including Leah Jamieson and/or William Oakes of Purdue University and John Duffy of the University of Massachusetts, Lowell.
