PACC and the Service-Learning Consortium of Northeast PA are delighted to invite you to register for “Engage! Out of the Classroom, into the Community” Conference to be held April 14, 2016 at Misericordia University, Dallas, PA. Registration deadline is March 31st; PACC members $40, and non-PACC members $60.

Along with panel presentations by service-learning faculty, this conference features a Presidents Panel of regional college/university presidents, and an Assessment Institute led by Cyndi Rickards, Drexel University (see bio below)

Biographical Sketch

Cyndi Rickards currently serves as the Senior Assistant Dean for Community Engagement in the College of Arts and Sciences at Drexel University and develops and teaches community-based learning courses in the department of Criminology and Justice Studies. Her research has examined the emergence of 21st-century skills as a result of democratic engagement within community-based learning courses.

She regularly teaches courses within the Philadelphia Prison System and brings together Drexel students and incarcerated students for and Inside-Out course. In partnership with the University’s Lindy Center for Civic Engagement, she co-developed UConnect – an urban extension center model that brings students and community members together to navigate the city’s complex social service system.
