Engage, Educate, Empower: Men of Color Conference – Oct 12

Posted by Community College of Philadelphia on September 17, 2024

The goal of this free conference is to create a meaningful dialogue around expanding the pipeline of college admission and success among men of color in Philadelphia. Emphasis will be placed on conversations that engage, educate and empower through a lens of care and equity, while acting to advance education at local, regional and national levels.

The Men of Color Conference is an experience that levels the field, connecting attendees with the speakers through conversation and action. This conference serves as a call to action to make education more accessible, affordable, equitable and inclusive for everyone. It is a call to rise up against the inequitable structures that continue to exist in our educational system.

The Men of Color Conference will engage and educate young men of color about their opportunities for success through education, professional training and representative mentorship.

We’re bringing together notable figures from the Philadelphia community—innovative thinkers and visionary leaders to start conversations that engage, educate and empower through a lens of care and equity with session topics like:

  • Fathers as Advocates: The Role of Men of Color in Shaping Inclusive Education
