University City District is offering 2 energy conservation workshops, one for homeowners and one for small businesses.
Homeowner Energy Conservation Workshop
Thursday, April 1st
6-9 pm
Calvary Center
48th St. & Baltimore Ave.
Cost: $25
In partnership with Solutions for Progress, this workshop will give the participants information on energy efficiency and provide techniques and resources that are available to achieve affordable energy comfort.
learn how to read and understand a utility bill. Learn do-it-yourself techniques for savings, as well as resources and programs that support energy conservation efforts. Identify grant and loan programs that are available to help finance repairs and rehabilitation of homes.
Small Business Energy Conservation Workshop
Monday, April 5th
6-9 pm
UCD Operations Center
3940 Chestnut Street
Cost: FREE
In partnership with the Temple University Small Business Development Center and the Wharton Small Business Development Center, this workshop will educate participants about improving energy efficiency and reducing expenses, as well as financing and funding resources. Learn do-it-your self techniques for immediate savings.
Also, small business owners will be eligible for additional small business training scholarships at the Wharton or Temple SBDC (accounting, marketing etc)!
