End of the Season Celebration

Delaware County Asset Development a.k.a. “DelCoAD” invites you to

Come celebrate the end of a successful first year of our collaboration. The project mission is to organize, implement, and sustain a multi-university/community project concerned with various forms of asset development for low-income communities in the Philadelphia region.

Monday, April 21, 2003, 12 PM, Swarthmore College.

To date, we have trained and placed over 30 volunteers from Widener University and Swarthmore College at four area community based organizations. These organizations have turned themselves into “VITA Sites” or Volunteer Income Tax Assistance sites. All of the volunteers were trained by the Internal Revenue Service and the PA State Department of Revenue. The participating organizations are: Chester Education Foundation, Chester Microenterprise Partnership, Delaware County Family Centers, and Women’s Association for Women’s Alternatives (WAWA). The Franklin Mint Federal Credit Union has offered to conduct two free financial education workshop series at the Chester Education Foundation site. Neumann College is also affiliated with DelCoAD for networking purposes. Law students from Villanova University volunteer with WAWA at their Christ Lutheran Church site.

DelCoAD is convened by PHENND. For more information, visit http://www.upenn.edu/ccp/PHENND/initiatives/finoutreach.html
