Employment Specialist, Welcoming Center for New Pennsylvanians
The Welcoming Center for New Pennsylvanians is a nonprofit economic development organization serving immigrants in the Philadelphia area.
The Employment Specialist works as part of a six-person Employment Department. Primary responsibilities are to screen and place work-authorized immigrants in employment, and to identify and establish relationships with potential employers.
This is a shoe-leather position that entails extensive local travel in the Philadelphia region. It requires being out of the office three (3) days per week.
Duties:
– Screen and place work-authorized immigrants in employment
-Research local employment needs
– Identify and establish relationships with potential employers
– Visit employers to learn about their employment needs, specific job skills and requirements
-Conduct one-on-one meetings with jobseekers for intake, to assess skills, and discuss career goals
-Arrange interviews for jobseekers and accompany jobseekers to interviews
-Serve as a liaison between employers and employees during and after placement
