At ACHIEVEability, participants are pursuing college degrees to achieve long-term, sustainable self-sufficiency for themselves and their families. Our participants are required to work to maintain their expenses and to gain experience for their future careers. We are an award-winning organization with a comprehensive array of services to help families succeed and help neighborhoods thrive.

Responsibilities include the following:
• Provide services to all unemployed and underemployed participants
• Network and build relationships with employers to provide direct connection links to employment
• Establish partnerships with other career-focused non –profit organizations
• Develop a jobs database with available positions, position requirements and responsibilities and contacts for placement
• Provide supportive services around job searches and career development:
o Assist with career interest and aptitude tests, vocational assessments and employment assessments
o Develop and follow through on participant employment plans
o Assist participants with their training needs (resume writing, interviewing skills, self-presentation, the job search process, employment skills, employee rights and responsibilities, understanding benefits and compensation) — via one-on-one consultations and/or group workshops
o Organize and facilitate job readiness programming
o Motivate, plan, educate and follow up with participants regarding job retention and career advancement
o Collaborate with other members of the self-sufficiency department to ensure integration of plans, services and evaluation
o Collect and document data using the participant database and other tools and forms
• Participate in developing and enhancing the organization’s employment services strategy, program and activities

Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills – writing, speaking, presentation
• Excellent customer service skills
• Experience preferred.
• Professional appearance and behavior
• Skills in Microsoft Office, Publisher and Internet
• Ability to be respectful and interact with people from all walks of life
• Strong sense of responsibility, initiative and follow through
• Ability to successfully pass background checks (criminal – FBI and PA, child abuse, drug test, driving record, college transcripts and diploma)
• Valid driver’s license
• Registered vehicle available for use at work and auto insurance
• Ability and willingness to work evenings and weekends
• Comfortable working in West Philadelphia
