Description:
The Employer Wellness Program Coordinator will solicit employer participation in the ARRA-funded Communities Putting Prevention to Work initiative to implement an employee wellness program to reduce obesity, encourage physical activity, healthy eating and smoking cessation. The Coordinator will educate CEOs, benefits managers, and HR administrators from large-sized Philadelphia employers about the importance of smoking cessation and nutrition to employee’s productivity and health; then guide employers in implementing best practices for establishing weight control, healthy eating and physical fitness programs as well as establishing cessation benefits, worksite cessation programs, and smoke-free policies. The Coordinator will work intensively with 10-15 employers over the course of 2 years to plan and implement a wellness program that enables achievement of CEO Cancer Gold Standard accreditation (http://www.cancergoldstandard.org).
LEVEL OF RESPONSIBILITY
The Employee Wellness Program Coordinator reports to the Director of Public Health and Community Outreach. The Coordinator works closely with the CEO to connect with employers. The Coordinator is responsible for managing day-to-day activities including employer recruitment, survey and assessment, planning, implementation and reporting. Recruits, supervises, and manages staff, interns, and any other contract personnel hired to assist with program.
