Employer-Paid Internships
Posted by on March 12, 2007
You are cordially invited to attend an orientation regarding WorkReady Philadelphia Employer-Paid Internships. This orientation will provide you with information and resources, as well as pre-coded applications, to participate as a partner in the WorkReady Philadelphia Employer-Paid Internships Summer Program and enable you to recruit youth with some prior work experience for this summer internship opportunity.
Employer-Paid Internships (EPI) provide Philadelphia high school students with paid workplace experiences at area business for six weeks during the summer. These internships give young people a taste of the working world, exposure to career opportunities, and an understanding of how school is connected to economic success. This program is an integral component of WorkReady Philadelphia, a broad-based partnership dedicated to building the region?s future workforce.
The following will be discussed in detail at the orientation:
q WorkReady Overview
q EPI Overview and Logistics
q EPI Youth Recruitment Process
q 2007 Employer-Paid Internship Application Process
q Job Readiness Preparation Tools
Please contact Becky or Nakeia below to RSVP for one of the orientation dates. In order to refer youth to EPI, you must attend an orientation.
I look forward to our partnership. If you have questions, please feel free to contact me or one of our School Support Specialists.
