Emergency Broadband Benefit (EBB) program Week of Action: Sep 27 – Oct 1

Posted by The Leadership Conference on September 21, 2021

Save the Date! On September 27th, The Leadership Conference, along with partners from the Lifeline Coalition are launching a Back 2 School & Connected week of action campaign to make sure all eligible households are aware of the Emergency Broadband Benefit (EBB) program, a federal digital connectivity program, and how to enroll.

We need trusted community messengers, like you and your organization, to help us spread the word all week long through October 1, 2021 and encourage eligible households to enroll in the program.

Can you join us during the week of September 27th to help us get the word out to your community about the Emergency Broadband Benefit (EBB) program?

If you’re a social service, faith, or community-based organization….

  • Flyer or table in your community, local library or YWCA/YMCA
  • Share information and messaging on your social media (Ask ten of your friends to share, as well)
  • Share resources with your network and partners through emails and newsletters
  • Host a virtual event or webinar about how to sign up for EBB
  • Write a blog post or submit an op-ed to your local newspaper

If you represent your local government….

  • Write and submit a press release with information about this program
  • Provide flyers to your local social service agencies to distribute
  • Share messaging on social media and ask your colleagues to do the same
  • Write and share an op-ed with your local newspaper
  • Work with your local school district(s) to create a backpack letter to send home to parents

However you decide to engage, we will help set you up with materials you will need to be successful. If you haven’t already done so, please fill out this form or email back to let us know how you’d like to participate!

Please take a minute to ask your colleagues and friends to join us during this EBB Week of Action, September 27 through October 1, 2021.
