Educational Coordinator Job Description

The Sustainable Business Network of Greater Philadelphia seeks someone to fill the role of Educational Coordinator. SBN helps local, independent businesses thrive, while they build an economy for people, planet and prosperity for all. SBN is a small, but dynamic and rapidly growing/developing organization, so everyone on the staff must pitch in as needed. This position’s responsibilities will shift over time due to the developing nature of the organization. This position will be responsible for playing a leadership role for educational programming, including seminars and networking events, the Social Venture Institute, and the administration of the B Ratings System.

Responsibilities:

Activities would include, but are not limited to:

* Build a sponsorship program to support educational programs;
* Leadership role in the Social Venture Institute, including logistics, curriculum, outreach and marketing, media relations, and partner relationships;
* Work with Program Committee to plan and execute educational seminars and networking events;
* Reach out to and collaborating with member businesses and other professional and community organizations to produce educational events;
* Market educational opportunities to business members and other stakeholders;
* Manage periodic special events, including the SustainaBall;
* Grant-writing to support educational programming in partnership with Executive Director;
* Other duties as assigned.

Desired skills and qualifications for this position include:

* 3-5 years experience working in business and/or sustainability education;
* Strong event planning and logistics experience;
* Ability to facilitate groups and run meetings;
* Demonstrated flexibility and ability to embrace change;
* Some demonstrated commitment to SBN’s values;
* Self-motivated; able to work independently and balance multiple tasks;
* Strong communication and writing skills;
* Experience working with diverse communities;
* Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or other relevant field
