Philadelphia’s Second Annual Education for Liberation Conference and Curriculum Fair
Toward an Anti-Racist, Pro-Student, Non-Standardized Education
Saturday, April 30, 2010
9:30am – 5:00pm
Folk Arts and Cultural Treasures School
1023 Callowhill Street, Philadelphia, PA 19123
Co-Sponsored by Teacher Action Group and Philadelphia Student Union
The goal of the Curriculum Fair and Conference is to bring educators, students, and community members together to explore a variety of issues within social justice education.
The morning Curriculum Fair will feature unit and lesson plans, projects, resources, and best practices for social justice education. This will be a space for educators to connect and exchange, learn from each other, and take new ideas back to their own classrooms.
The afternoon Conference will be a space for building stronger community alliances for education justice, as parents, students, community members, and educators.
** We are still accepting exhibitors to showcase curriculum and facilitate workshops. **
Throughout the day, there will be:
Curriculum Exhibits * Workshops and Discussions * Community Resources
In the Afternoon, join hundreds of parents, students and educators for an important Community Assembly: “Beyond Band-aids: Getting True School Change in Philadelphia.”
