Job Title:         Education Director – Grade 7
Location:        Philadelphia
Hours Required:    40 per week
Reports To:        Senior Vice President – Strategy, Funding & Community Affairs

Position Summary:     The Education Director is responsible for overall management of agency financial literacy program including program development and planning, workshop implementation, program logistics (Financial Smarts, FinanciallyHers, Seniors), coordination of education staff and contractors, and identification and management of educational partnerships.

Qualifications:

•    Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 5-7 years of experience in program management and/or operations.
•    Masters Degree in Management, Social Work, Education or related field preferred.
•    Strong people management and mentoring skills.   2-3 years direct management experience.
•    Previous experience in the financial services industry preferred.
•    The ability to maintain and follow-through with relationships is key to this position.
•    Self motivated with strong time management skills.
•    Exceptional presentation, organizational, written and verbal communication skills.
•    Strong public speaking skills is required.
•    Ability to work a flexible schedule & non-traditional including evening hours is required.
•    Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Essential Functions:

Program Management and Planning:

•    Manage and implement all aspects of agency financial literacy and educational initiatives (FinanciallyHers, Financial Smarts, Seniors, and Philadelphia Saves)
•    Develop and implement yearly education program plans and budgets.
•    Work with SVP on consumer education strategy and program enhancement.
•    Identify and maintain general educational partnerships with the local employers, community groups and credit grantors.
•    Engage corporate and community partners in achieving grant deliverables and potential fee-for-service workshops.
•    Partner with Director of Evaluation& Technology in evaluating education programs on a continuing basis to revise and/or update content and effectiveness.
•    Work with Evaluation team to maintain internal system that tracks and reports productivity and ensures that grant deliverables are satisfied.
•    Work with the Development in goal setting for grants and various funder reports.

Education/Instructional Implementation:

•    Recruit and train educators, contractors and volunteers on financial topics and ensure consistent quality of agency education workshops.
•    Manage activities of education staff and multiple contractors to ensure delivery of 300 plus workshops within Clarifi footprint in a timely and consistent manner.
•    Manage day to day activities of Education Coordinator.
•    Personally, conducts off site seminars, workshops, and presentations on a variety of budget, credit, and money management topics.
•    Creates opportunities for growth in the number of educational presentations and attendance by expansion of presentations to existing markets.

Community Outreach:

•    Work with marketing team to creates name recognition through educational materials and promotional activities and interaction with corporations in our market area.
•    Participates with NFCC in national education efforts and promotional services events.
•    Manage key educational partnerships to ensure delivery of education services and build relationships overtime to maximum partnership resources and funding
•    Partner with Outreach team to further build community presence (expos/presentations) and corporate relations to identify workshop opportunities and to solidify financial support.

Administrative
•    Compile bi-weekly reporting stats for SVP and quarterly summary reports for the board.
•    Review presentation of workshop materials to ensure relativity and to remain current.
•    Performs special projects and/or assignments as directed by the SVP.
•    Completes all required paperwork/reports relating to education workshops/activities.

Professional Skills
•    Compose correspondence and presentations with proper spelling, grammar and articulation.
•    Communicate accurately and clearly to internal employees and external partners.
•    Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
•    Work flexible schedule and non-traditional working hours as business requires.
•    Dress appropriately when engaging clients and external partners.

Travel:
Position is based in the Philadelphia Office. Travel extensively in the 10 counties in Southeastern Pa and
Southern New Jersey and Delaware by automobile to partner meetings, present workshops, attend events
and conferences relating to education programs.  Candidate must be a licensed driver with full time access
to reliable, properly registered and insured car and be able and willing to travel to locations where
education sessions are conducted.

Physical Demands:
Position requires incumbent to provide appropriate class material for workshop participants and
community outreach events.  These materials may, at times, be a considerable weight to transport (less
than 50 lbs). The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an
employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be

Work Environment:
The environment for this position is standard office environment. In addition to the office responsibilities, there are off-site workshops, presentations and community outreach events.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions
