Educating After Trauma: Trauma-informed practices for adult educators

Are you an educator working with adults who have experienced trauma or violence? As an educator, are you sometimes frustrated or confused by your students’ behavior in your classroom? Do you want to learn new ways to create a welcoming environment in your classroom that addresses some of the barriers to learning your students bring?
This workshop will help you understand some of the causes of student behavior and offer some possible solutions. We will learn basic information about trauma, its impact, and trauma-informed practices for tutoring and classroom settings. We will commit to an action plan for shifting our work to be more trauma-informed.
