Join us in honoring Enrique Peñalosa for his legacy as Mayor of Bogotá, Colombia – where has used his position to invest in the City’s marginalized communities; building and reconstructing hundreds of kilometers of sidewalks, bicycle paths, pedestrian streets, greenways, and more than 1,200 parks as well as introducing the groundbreaking Transmilenio Bus Rapid Transit system in the city.
Also honored at this ceremony will be the winners of the 2018 Better Philadelphia Challenge. This year’s urban design challenge asked students to imagine a new kind of Park+Way for Philadelphia to better connect its citizens to natural, cultural, and social resources – in honor of the 100th anniversary of our Benjamin Franklin Parkway.
The ceremony will be followed by a coffee + dessert reception for all in attendance.
With the purchase of a VIP ticket, we invite you to join us and the award winners before the ceremony at 5:00 PM for our VIP Reception which will feature heavy hors d’oeuvres, wine, beer, and live music. In attendance will be Mayor Peñalosa, the competition winners, local dignitaries, and our built-environment focused sponsors, without whom this program would not be possible.
