INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY
ECONOMIC RESEARCH
SEPTEMBER-DECEMBER 2004
Minimum: 6 hours per week
Volunteer internship
The Philadelphia Print Collaborative (PPC) seeks a motivated, organized individual to intern. This is an excellent opportunity for a student to gain skills and experience while working with leaders in the Philadelphia community.
Research Project
Find and evaluate qualitative and quantitative data about international companies and industries with economic interest in Philadelphia. Example questions to spearhead research include:
? What role(s) does the city of Philadelphia and the Greater Philadelphia region play as a center of international trade/commerce?
? What are the major imports/exports?
? Gather the logistical information necessary for contact with found companies (branch offices, contact person, etc.)
Requirements
? Interest in economics, accuracy, and attention to detail required
? Experience or study in economics helpful
? Interest or experience in the arts helpful but not required
PPC is housed at Solutions for Progress, a consulting firm that specializes in policy analysis and economic development. It is a progressive and professional work environment.
Bus, and subway and train are nearby. Staff hours are 9 – 5 Monday through Friday.
