Eastern Region Mini Confernce, PA Black Conference on Higher Ed

I’d like to invite you (if you’ve already responded, thank you) to the Eastern Region Mini Conference of the PENNSYLVANIA BLACK CONFERENCE ON HIGHER EDUCATION (PBCOHE).

This year’s theme is:

Advocacy and Allocation: How can PBCOHE influence legislative funding allocation decisions for programs which academically support economically and/or educationally disadvantaged under-represented minority students?

DATE: TUESDAY, OCTOBER 18, 2005
TIME: 8:00 AM REGISTRATION, 9:00 AM START, ENDING AT 3:00 PM
LOCATION: UNIVERSITY OF PENNSYLVANIA, HOUSTON HALL 3417 SPRUCE STREET
COST: FREE, YES I SAID FREE…

Even though this is a free event, I’m asking persons to RSVP no later than Friday, October 7, 2005. There will be a $25 charge for on site registration.

GUEST SPEAKERS INCLUDE:
Ms. Charmaine Clowney, JD, Director of the Office of Diversity and Equal Opportunity for the PA State System of Higher Education, is our keynote speaker.

Our panel discussion is being moderated by Mr. Kenneth Perry with confirmed panelists:
Professor Phoebe Haddon, Professor of Law, Temple University
Paul Bylaska, VP for Finance and Administration of Clarion University

We are awaiting word from State Representative Jim Roebuck.

Ms. Valerie Dorsey-Allen*, Director of Penn’s African-American Resource Center (AARC) is serving as Mini Conference Chair.
