Earth Day Every Day: Extending Environmental Justice to All
Posted by on April 18, 2011
To celebrate Earth Day this year, the Public Interest Law Center of Philadelphia is hosting a training seminar on Environmental Justice to provide lawyers, advocates, and community members with the tools they need to fight environmental injustice, both by halting further environmental abuse and by crafting a positive vision for creating economically and environmentally revitalized communities.
The seminar, “Earth Day Every Day: Extending Environmental Justice to All,” will be held on Friday, April 22nd, from 9:00am-1:00pm. It will discuss the history of the EJ movement (with special attention to local cases in Chester, Camden, and Philadelphia), the legal foundations of EJ action, and how to use non-litigation strategies such as community organizing, advocacy, and negotiation to pursue environmental justice. You can find out more and register to attend the seminar at http://www.lawcenterearthday.eventbrite.com.
Though there is a fee to attend the session, discounts and scholarships are readily available. Please encourage anyone for whom cost is any concern to contact me at this email address ([email protected]) or by phone at 215.627.7100 x 253.
