Introducing 4th INTERNATIONAL EARTH CHARTER COMMUNITY SUMMITS DAY
PHILADELPHIA REGIONAL METROPOLITAN AREA
National Constitution Center, Independence Mall (Kirby Auditorium)
525 Arch Street, Philadelphia, Pa.
Saturday, October 9, 2004 9 AM-5 PM
Featuring:
* a day-long program of interesting, practical ‘edu-tainment’
* designed to add Action to Awareness
* in the work of implementing the Earth Charter, the Global Declaration of Interdependence for a Sustainable Future for Our Planet and all of its inhabitants, human and otherwise.
More specifically, the program will focus on…
* participants gaining a hands-on orientation to a new software program
* designed to help communities all over the world
* translate the values and principles of the Earth Charter
* into concrete operational programs and measures of community betterment
* in a cooperative, thoughtful and inclusive manner.
We’ll be employing…
* the Peace Corps model of having someone intimately familiar with the people and conditions of the Delaware Valley (veteran Earth Charter organizing volunteer Kevin Hansen)
* combined with the technical software designer specialist of the EarthCAT software (Christian Layke, Senior Associate,World Resources Institute, Washington DC)
* and others
* to produce an exciting, varied, informative and practical program of activity
* which will be linked via the Internet to other US Summits cities and the world
* so that interested others can ‘watch over our shoulders ‘as we pioneer one of the first orientations and application of this new approach to putting ‘muscle’ into efforts to implement the planet-saving principles and values of the Earth Charter.
COME. JOIN US…
* Time is NOT our ally — The people, animals and environment of Earth need our love and attention, now.
* This program will help us make the quantum leap we need in forging a new paradigm of protection for our only home.
