Early Childhood Programs Specialist, Barnes Foundation

Posted by Barnes Foundation on November 2, 2021

Under the shared supervision of the Directors of PreK-12 and Educator Programs and Community Engagement and Family Programs (CEF), the Early Childhood Programs Specialist leads the development and implementation of early childhood programs for 0–7-year-olds. The Specialist designs curricula and programming for pre-kindergarten through first graders, with the goals of preparing young learners for school-readiness and supporting caregivers to participate in early childhood learning. The Specialist develops curriculum for online and in-person learning inside the Barnes art galleries, and community settings.   The Specialist maintains partnerships with early childhood and K-1st grade public, charter and private schools in Philadelphia and Camden, facilitating professional development and family events. The Specialist is a resource to Barnes colleagues, coaching teaching artists on early learning standards and contributing to summer camp program activities for students PreK-12.

Established as an educational institution, the Barnes Foundation carries out its mission by promoting appreciation of the arts and horticultural science, through the preservation, presentation, and interpretation of the collections of Albert C. and Laura L. Barnes.

Celebrated for its exceptional breadth, depth, and quality, the Barnes Foundation’s art collection includes works by some of the greatest European and American masters of impressionism, post-impressionist, and early modern art, as well as African sculpture, Pennsylvania German decorative arts, Native American textiles, metalwork, and more.

The Foundation engages diverse audiences through its exceptional collections and related high-quality programs that reflect a broad range of periods and cultures and build on the founders’ innovative educational vision of transforming lives through the arts and horticulture.
