The Early Childhood Education (ECE) Workforce Summit brings together key stakeholders in the ECE sector to address various workforce issues.

FACT Check!
The childcare industry is growing overall at a rate of 17% nationally and at a similar rate locally.
Childcare services are the third fastest growing subsector of the education industry cluster (PA Department of Labor and
Industry, 2013).
With the advent of new Head Start and other federal funds such as Early Head Start, Philadelphia anticipates approximately 400 new jobs will be created.
If universal pre-K is instituted in Pennsylvania, 28,000 new jobs will be created, 34% of which (9,520) will be in Southeastern PA.
The need for qualified staff who meet stringent federal and state requirements has become a pressing issue.
