Early Childhood Education Apprenticeship Conference in Philadelphia scheduled for September 20, 2018 from 8:30am to 3:30pm at the Courtyard Marriott on City Avenue.

An exciting set of speakers and workshops that will provide both the national context and practical implementation information include:

  • Mary Alice McCarthy from New America and Marica Cox Mitchell from the National Association for the Education of Young Children will present a keynote address on workforce trends, challenges, and promising models in early childhood education.
  • Linda Smith from the Bipartisan Policy Institute will provide remarks that position the apprenticeship model in the context of Early Childhood Education policy.
  • Early Childhood Education (ECE) apprentices, their coaches, and their employers will provide the context for their participation in the apprenticeship program and share how the program has impacted them, their work, and the children and families that they serve.
  • The mechanics and impact of ECE apprenticeship will be described during workshops from the perspectives of employers, institutions of higher education, program evaluators, and early childhood education policy makers. ECE apprenticeship program replication tools, resources, and ideas will be shared in support of program growth and replication.
