Dropout Prevention Professional Development Series
Posted by on February 20, 2011
The National Dropout Prevention Center announces the debut of a brand new series of professional development resources: The Professional Development Series. Based on the radio webcasts from Solutions to the Dropout Crisis, this new series begins with a national content expert’s one-hour workshop. In addition, the series provides a complete multisession professional development program for schools and communities to use as next steps. All necessary resources are included on the DVD.
The first in the series is The Positive Effects of Mentoring, created in partnership with MENTOR and featuring Kate Schineller, Vice President of MENTOR. It includes a 10-session in-service program which provides participants with a comprehensive introduction to mentoring along with an in-depth look at the essential components of an effective mentoring program. The DVD also comes with the resource materials that participants can then use to actually implement or improve a mentoring program in their school or community.
Are you considering mentoring as a strategy for dropout prevention? For mentoring to be effective, all parties need to understand how to do it right. This professional development program will ensure your success!
This first component is available for Network members for only $40 (or $50 for non-Network members) with life-changing material commonly valued at over $400.
