PhillyPatientRide seeks drivers

Did you know that hundreds of cancer patients in the Philadelphia area have no way of getting to treatment?  Every day cancer patients in our community need rides to and from their treatments and doctors appointments.

PhillyPatientRide brings together cancer patients at many of Philadelphia’s top hospitals with volunteer drivers who have access to PhillyCarShare’s fleet of vehicles throughout the City.

Volunteers receive a weekly email that lists appointments where transportation is needed for the coming week and then sign up for the rides they are able to provide.

Volunteers are required to attend a training orientation; must be at least 21 years old; and must have a valid drivers’ license and safe driving record.

The next orientation training will be Thursday, May 9th at 5:30pm at the American Cancer Society office, 1626 Locust Street, Philadelphia.
