City issues draft of new park goals
The Commissioner of Philadelphia’s new Department of Parks and Recreation, Michael DiBerardinis, has released a draft statement of the vision, mission and goals of the new agency for public comment. The draft reflects the input of more than 700 community partners and staff who have worked on the document since early May and have shared feedback reflective of their concerns and aspirations.
Over the summer, Commissioner DiBerardinis and senior staff will be visiting neighborhoods to continue an open dialogue as the merger process of the Department of Parks and Recreation moves ahead.
