Donor Relations Manager, Summer Search Philadelphia

Why Work At Summer Search
Summer Search is a $17.5M national youth development non-profit in seven cities across the country. Since 1990, we’ve worked with low-income high school students to transform what they believe is possible for themselves. Summer Search alumni, often the first in their families to earn a college degree, are beacons of change who give back to their families and communities. The results speak for themselves: 83% of Summer Search students are on track to get a college degree, in contrast with fewer than 1 in 10 of their peers.
Powered by a successful $20M national growth campaign, Summer Search launched our five-year strategic plan in 2013 with the goal of serving more than 3,500 students and doubling revenues. As the link between positive character traits and a child’s future success continues to gain widespread national attention, Summer Search stands at an exciting inflection point in its history. Recognized by the Non-Profit Times as one of the 2013 50 Best Non-Profits to Work for, Summer Search’s success can be attributed to our stellar team. Summer Search seeks a mission-driven, entrepreneurial and results-oriented development professional to help grow our program and impact in Philadelphia. The Donor Relations Manager will work in partnership with our Executive Director to cultivate and increase the number of partners who invest in our life-changing work. The Donor Relations Manager will manage and cultivate a portfolio of existing major donors and prospects, with the goal of raising a $1,000,000 in annual support for our Philadelphia program. The Donor Relations manager will also have strong detail and execution orientation. In partnership with a direct report, our Development Assistant, the Donor Relations Manager will ensure excellent development operations for the Philadelphia office from the gift acknowledgment process to the management of the region’s annual fundraising dinner. This is an exciting opportunity for an inspired self-starter to elevate Summer Search Philadelphia’s fundraising capacity and therefore student impact to a new level.
